Bible

The King James Bible (Authorized Version) is considered to be greatest literary work ever produced in the English language.  It is unsurpassed in beauty, majesty and accuracy.  It is the “gold standard” by which all other translations are judged.  Its flowing language and prose rhythm has had a profound influence on the literature of the past 400 years.

The first English translation ever produced was by John Wycliffe in 1380.  In 1604, King James I of England authorized that a new translation of the Bible into English be started. It was completed  in 1611 by a group to 42 of the most learned and godly scholars in Great Britain of that time. It quickly became the standard Bible for English-speaking Christians.  The King James Bible (KJB) continues to be the choice translation because of the Greek text from which it was translated (Textus Receptus) and its accurate, word-for-word rendering of both the Hebrew and Greek languages.  The translation used here is the King James Bible.
